Currie & Brown, a leading international construction and management consultancy, has strengthened the management team in its Manchester office with four new appointments including John Rayson as manager of the office. John will lead the office forward in his role as Director for Currie & Brown with an objective to strengthen their position as a major consultancy in the region.

The appointment comes after strong performance in the UK over the last year in which the business grew through the expansion of existing business and major new client appointments, adding to an extensive portfolio of public and private sector clients.

John, 41, has a wealth of experience in construction consultancy and will be responsible for the Manchester office, overseeing the business in the North West region.

Prior to joining Currie & Brown he held overall responsibility for the Franklin + Andrews Manchester office and was a Divisional Director of Mott MacDonald.

"Since starting with Currie & Brown, and having delved through the corporate modesty, I have been amazed to learn of what we do, and the clients we do it for. These are exciting times for us, and I am looking forward to the opportunities that lie ahead."

John will be joining three new recruits set to strengthen Currie & Brown's position in the North.

Tim Boyle has been appointed as Senior Project Manager, with extensive knowledge of every stage of the procurement, design and construction process, Tim has over 25 years of experience in both public and private sectors. Senior Quantity Surveyor, Catherine Walsh has joined after a 3 year spell as a Senior Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University where she was course leader for the BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying. Claire McAuley joins the team as Marketing Executive and brings with her experience from the National Lottery and the NHS.

David Burns, Director, Northern Strategic Business Unit commented: "The past year for Currie & Brown has seen significant growth. The appointment of John, combined with other recent external appointments and promotions throughout the business, marks a significant phase of our development and demonstrates both the quality of staff we have, and our ability to attract quality recruits. The promotion and continuing investment in the growth of the office, demonstrates our confidence for the coming year as we aim to grow our business by utilising our expertise across the sector and being the favoured challenging partner of client organisations"
