Edinburgh Park to expand with 42,000 sq ft business village

Edinburgh Park is set to expand into its southern phase with the proposed development of a 42,000 sq ft business village aimed at small to medium sized occupiers.

New Edinburgh Limited (NEL), the developers of Edinburgh Park, announced today it has submitted a detailed planning application for ten units ranging in size from 1,720 sq ft to 8,810 sq ft.

The buildings will feature fully flexible floorplates and, depending on size, occupiers will be able to choose from terraced, semi-detached or detached properties. The properties will also benefit from a generous parking provision with each unit having their own allocated spaces. In addition, the Business Village lies in close proximity to Edinburgh Park Railway station.

With the increase in city centre rental rates and more businesses with varying requirements looking to relocate, NEL believes that demand for the smaller units will be high with a number of organisations now preferring to own, rather than lease, their office buildings.

Pamela Grant, Development Director at NEL said: "West Edinburgh continues to benefit from comparatively lower occupancy costs than the city centre and this, coupled with the convenience of the location and the amenities it has to offer, makes it increasingly attractive for small to medium sized businesses looking to relocate. We believe that the development of a business village will be very attractive to a number of potential occupiers."

Edinburgh Park has numerous benefits available including excellent public transport links, a dedicated railway station and planned tram stops close by. The west Edinburgh location is convenient for both the expanding Edinburgh Airport and access to the city centre and M8 and will also benefit considerably with the completion of line one of the Edinburgh Tram Project.

Edinburgh Park is home to 21 of the country's leading businesses collectively responsible for over 7,000 employees. The tranquil, landscaped surroundings, strong transport links and range of amenities on-site make it an appealing choice for many companies.

Within the northern phase of Edinburgh Park, there remains 48,355 sq ft (4,992 sq m) available to let at 7 Lochside View. Suites ranging from 7,990 sq ft (742 sq m) are available to let on flexible leasing terms and are suitable for a variety of size and staffing requirements with accommodation for up to 350 people and a further 150 car parking spaces on site.
